Derek Tucker
Iʼve come a long way from my covert life in the shadows as an Intelligence Specialist for the Navy to winning a awards for how loud my work can be. I've realized growth requires being as adaptable as possible.
The array of skills Iʼve acquired are transitioning surprisingly well into the advertising industry.

My career goal is to always work in a setting that provides me opportunities to grow as a copywriter and improve my industry knowledge.

Officially became a professional writer... sort of
Storytelling. Branding. Digging deep for what truly makes a brand unique to come up with stories my mom will love.
Growing Deadpan Derek from the ground up
Pursuing passion projects, writing, reading, and even redefining my previous fitness "peak" —I've allowed my OCD and ADHD grab hands and run wild. It's been absolutely liberating becoming the best me I've yet to be.
Started following people around with a camera (with consent and a paycheck)
Produced and edited content for a variety of different social events; Operated and managed upkeep of a wide range of cameras and equipment. My work and the company were featured in several online publications.
Won a D&AD New Blood Award (and got a degree in Advertising and Branding)
Enrolled, attended (most classes), and graduated. Learned from some of the best in the industry.
Single-handedly saved the world at least eleven times (with help from friends)
Wrote selective synopses. Stories I legally canʼt tell my mom. Collected and analyzed raw information to produce operational intelligence products AKA made some stuff and found some bad guys.
Began and completed super secret spy training
18 birthdays later after my first, I completed the rigorous contractor and military-led intelligence course at NMITC, followed by a ton of others I can't name.
Consistently won competitive matches of hide-and-seek with OSHA
From ages 13-18, I worked under the table for my dad's construction company. I saved the company tens of thousands on paying qualified labor.
I was born
What a time to be alive.
